Meet Kuoni’s Lauren Auger, who has some fresh ideas for how to do Vegas right!
When people think of Las Vegas, they automatically think of the Strip with its casinos and neon lights. While it’s definitely an exciting facet of our city, I like to surprise groups with other Las Vegas adventures, like a desert jeep tour, an escorted trip to Hoover Dam or even a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon! Another favorite is designing a Las Vegas dine around program that spotlights our many celebrity chefs like Tom Colicchio, Emeril Lagasse and Mario Batali. Because Las Vegas is ever changing, you can come back four times a year and never repeat the same experience. Vegas is a true melting pot, too. Las Vegas takes the best of what’s available around the world, from Paris to the South Seas-inspired Mandalay Bay, and offers it all within one unique and vibrant city!
Everyone that comes to Vegas loves to do a Vegas theme. The trick is to find a way to make it fresh. We recently produced a Vegas corporate event using the TV show Mad Men as our inspiration. The event concept morphed into a retro-Vegas vibe with an ultra-cool 50s theme, featuring such touches as “cigarette girls” (handing out old-fashioned candy) at registration to a teambuilding event with an Ocean's 11-style heist. Even the awards night featured a classy spin on the “Ring Girl.” The group took to the theme like mad, dressing the part so that everywhere you saw guys in fedoras and dolls in cocktail dresses. Fabulous!
